exhaust leak?

i think i have a slight leak. it sounds like it's under my door. it makes a slight sound when i'm parked and let the gas off after i rev it a little. (did this since i bought it) it sounds like a sound i would make with my nose. like breathing out of it intensely while humming. if you have this problem you know what i'm talking about. haha, and also since a few days ago it has been a little bit louder than usual. and i hear it next to me. maybe it's because it's starting to get down to 15 degrees at night? not sure. also, on a super cold morning after just starting her, my exhaust tips were putting out smoke (like any car does in 10 degrees) but it also came out the side of my car a little bit. so i think there is a small problem. i need to take her to a shop some time soon. my gas milage has gone down from 20-21 to 18-18.5. i hope it won't be too expensive.

Re: exhaust leak?

Your gas mileage will always go down in the winter. I believe it has something to do with fuel formulation.

Your leak is likely worse because of the colder temps. It's probably the gaskets between the converters or the flanges have rusted off or are starting to rust off. Both are easy/cheap fixes.
