Question New Question: Cats...

Ok guys thanks for the help with the Flowmaster muffler! My next question is... will it impede the engines operations in anyway if I were to remove ALL of the cats? Just have straight pipe coming from the exhaust manifolds to a Y pipe back to the muffler... Thanks

Tom

You will have a resonation between 2000 and 3000 rpm if you do not have pre-cats or resonators in their place.

So what would you suggest? Keep the two front ones on, take the y one out, and the resonator, or even take all out and leave resonator? just trying to figure out the best way to improve breathing and sound! Thanks!

Re: New Question: Cats...

I had no cats at all for a while, seemed to be a good top end but lost low end. I added back a high flow 2 into 1 cat and got the low rpm power back and it sounds better.

Also like Mike said, no cats will buzz terribly.

This is exactly how mine was made....Just have the front cat. then to Magna Flow to straight pipe to the Y to stock tips....Sounds sweet when you put your foot in it a little, and wind out the shifts on Manual shifting...
