I'll try and look at that this weekend when time permits. I work crazy hours during the week and am currently at work. I still think it has something to do with that first coil pack since the spark plug seemed wet compared to all the other ones = not firing, I guess.

Does anyone know the cable part number on subaruparts.com for the cable that connects to the coil packs? (the colored ones that plug into the clips off of the coil pack cable leads).

Re: Bad o2 make the car earthquake shake?

One other thought has crossed my mind... why suddenly is beyond me... but could I have connected the O2 sensors wrong?

Would connecting the positive to the negative or vice versa still send a code to the computer, enough to not make it give a CEL because 'something' is still going through it allow it to run like **** or would it return a code?

I did get the 3-wire splice-in o2 sensors after all.

Please, have your tomatoes to throw at me prepared if this is the root of it all.
I probably shouldn't be allowed to work on my own car....

Re: Bad o2 make the car earthquake shake?

It only took a month but the coil pack was the fault and the issue is resolved. Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback everyone!

I'm sort of surprised at how much more power it seems to have but maybe it's just different after not really driving it much for a month back from the impreza or driving it slowly when it was somewhat crippled.

I have a feeling that sooner (most likely) or later, I'll just end up replacing the other 5 coil packs so I can knock it out for any reliability issues in the future. $350 isn't anything to scoff at but I'm guessing it could relieve some unnecessary future headaches and could? possibly improve performance slightly.

Re: Bad o2 make the car earthquake shake?

I have the same problem with my '92 Claret. I've replaced my O2 sensors with no joy, the problem is still there. I know you found a questionable plug and changed all of them first. My plugs have only 20K on them so I hope it's not them.

I have a question for you. Did you try pulling the connectors on the injectors to try an isolate the problem to one cylinder? If so, did it show the cylinder with the questionable plug to be the problem?

Thanks

Yea, that's what I did from the advice given by others on here. The one I replaced is the one that didn't make a difference when I pulled the injector plug.... which turned out to be the one, thankfully.

Re: Bad o2 make the car earthquake shake?

Thanks - Today I tore into mine and found the same thing. Pulling that cylinder's injector connector made no difference, but pulling any other injector made a big difference. The problem followed the coil to the cylinder on the other side of the engine when I switched the coils from side to side. Tomorrow I'll order the new coil.
