Steering column specs??

Does anyone have a steering column apart that can take a measurement on the shaft?

I'm looking at a weld on quick release for the racer, I found one that's made to get welded on a 3/4" shaft. It's weld on, so I don't care about spline count just what the dimensions of the shaft are near the end.

I get .615 at the splined area (approx 1 3/4 long) and the shaft above that is slightly bigger.
