Rear window interior panel

Hey everyone, when I first got my SVX I thought that the rear interor trim had just warped in the sun over time, it was really sticking out off the window and both rear window trims were sticking out BUT while I was in the back seat yesterday I realised that someone had taken off the trim previously on the LH and RH side (against the window).

When they put the trim back on they must have just smashed the panel in and thought they did a good job BUT when I pull the panel back and peak inside I can see the clips are bent up and not in their holes.

I'm gonna upload pictures tonight but in the mean time, I was hoping there was a How-To for taking the whole panel off to access the window???

If anyone has any instructions on how to take the rear trim off, help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Jordan.

Re: Rear window interior panel

If you mean the piller trim pieces then they are just clipped in.

Re: Rear window interior panel

Nah it's not the pillar trim piece it's the piece that covers the rear window motors

Still need to take photos but it'd be great if anyone knows or has any suggestions

Thanks, Jordan.

Re: Rear window interior panel

IIRC You have to take the rear seat base out first.

Re: Rear window interior panel

Remove the seat bottom (there's two plastic dealies at the front edge that you have to wiggle), then there's two plastic screw things in each side, one against the floor and one through the side. Those have to come out (small philips screwdriver and something thin to pry with). Once those are out you should be able to pull the panels off. It may help to remove the seat back. If you want to do that first remove the row of bolts holding the trunk carpet to the seat, then at the bottom rear corner the fabric is velcro'd down. Pull it up and you will see two bolts. Remove those and the seat comes out.

You'll be amazed what you'll find hiding in there. It was a mini-lottery for me.
