No Fuel To Filter
I have a 1996 SVX that just died making a u-turn. It will not restart and it is throwing 3 codes PO141, PO325, PO100. I disconnected the output gas line at the filter and there is no flow through the filter. Ther is no noise coming from the gas tank area where the pump is located. Is it possible that one of the listed codes is preventing the fuel pump from pressuring up?. I am having the car towed in today and would like to start eliminating possible causes.

Don't know about your OBD2 codes but first thing I would check is your rear car grounds esp the one on the muffler and your fuse links.

P0100 - Mass Air Flow Circuit Malfunction
P0141 - Something like Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit - Bank 1 Sensor 2 P0325 - Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction Looks like you've got a revolution on your hands! The fuel pump circuit is wired into the ECU, so it's a possibility... Is anyone opposed to his checking the voltage at the plug that connects to the pump? It should be a simple +V/G.

Got it Figured Out.
Turns out to be the fuel pump inside the tank. After removing the pump from the tank I could hear something rattling as I was draining the fuel from the pump and lines. I cut open the strainer (sock) and found pieces of the plastic support that is inside the strainer. The plastic had deterioated to the point it broke apart and a piece of it got sucked into the pump.
The error codes for the above mentioned have not come back as of yet and I will have to deal with them when they do. It appears they have nothing to do with the fuel problem. Thanks for you replies. |
