Yes, because of course we all know that taking your eyes off the road is a good idea...

I admire your ingenuity though. One of the guys on the Legacy board put a computer into his car. I think that would be a bit more useful because you could use it for MP3's and GPS.

i took mine out of the legacy I had it in and put it in the SVX... I made an insert that replaces the shifter surround, stereo door, ashtray, and cig lighter, but have been too lazy to paint it.. so i've been using the original housing just jammed in there where the stereo used to be . doesn't look too strange, but obviously not a finished look

...have GPS with cached virtual earth, XM, Voice rec, .MPx/WMA/whatever
...ohh and when I have a chance, ecu integration

Spring plans: Replace Trans - Integrate ECU with the carputer - Suspension - Go back to STI Filter - Paint? Maybe not - Next Oil change: Purolator L30165

you expect me to remember that
just a rough estimate...

200 - touch screen
25 - busted touch screen (spare housing)
500 about for the computer all together
240ish in software
80 or so for misc cables/wires/switches/extra hardware
another 25 for fabrication stuff to make new panels...

i'm sure I could do it MUCH cheaper if I did it all again today
