A/C finally works, but now...

I just had the teal's A/C completely fixed, it WORKS, it works, it works!!!!!!!!! (very happy!)
However, 2 times since I have gotten it fixed, I have tried to accellerate and got nothing, no RPM raise or anything, even with the pedal to the floor... this is after the car has already started moving and may be around 20-35mph Happens for a couple seconds, then it runs fine. Any idea's?

Sounds like a bad TPS sensor. That'd be my guess.

I'd second that ...
A faulty TPS can cause driveability problems such as ...
hesitation, stalling, an erratic idle, pinging, no torque converter lockup, hard starting, an intermittent check engine light while driving, poor fuel economy, and generally poor engine performance.

When you accelerate hard with the AC on, I think the AC clutch should disengage until the ECU believes you're back to cruising mode. Does the hesitation occur when you don't have the AC on?

I'll take a look at it when I have the car in a few weeks. I hope to have a select monitor up and running by then with any luck.

What exactly is a TPS sensor and what is it's function? Just curious as I'm relativly new to thorough engine work.

The TPS is used to supply the ECU (Engine Control Unit or computer) with critical information such as idle status and driver demand. Think of the TPS as a sophisticated accelerator pump in a carburetor. The TPS informs the ECU when the engine is at idle, when the driver opens the throttle, how much the throttle is opened, and how quickly. The computer uses that information to make adjustments to fuel delivery and spark advance.
