damn check engine light

Alright, so I've been driving this SVX for a few days now, and I seem to have one small silly issue...

The funkin' check engine light keeps turning on and off. Is this anything to be alarmed about? I assume it's just a good idea to head to the MAF first and foremost. The car doesn't drive any different when the light's on, so I wanna say it's just a bad sensor or maybe something that needs cleaning.

I've also been driving on 87 octane. Does that matter/affect anything?

"Hey what's that green power light mean?"
"It means we're beating that Porsche."
"What Porsche?"
"Look behind us."
"....Nice..."

Probably a knock sensor or O2 sensor. Look in the how to section under "engine" and you'll find how to read the trouble codes.

Alrighty, I thought it might be the knock sensor. I filled her up with premium but I haven't driven home yet (gas station, 3rd shift) I'll see if anything goes different.

I'd also rule in favor of O2 sensor

Well see, one problem is, the light never stays on long enough to get a code from. It'll only pop on at the weirdest times, like when I'm changing lanes, or getting some air over some railroad tracks... (cars are made to be driven right? )

Anyhow, I pulled the 02 sensor today while eating lunch, and this thing NEEDS cleaning lol.

I'll take it out again tomorrow and get that little bastage.
