Looking for an SVX Radiator

Hello Everyone ^_^,

A few days ago a hairline crack appeared on the top portion of my radiator which resulted in an impressive amount of steam and my poor baby be left on the side of the road

I was wondering if anyone knew a respectable place I could order one online and if I can temporarily fix the crack with jb weld. I’ve seen a few up on eBay but they’re either in poor condition or from shady sellers.

PM SVXFiles, he can set you up with a brand new radiator that has a larger capacity than the stock radiator. You'll just have to run a separate trans cooler.

I just got a new rad from http://www.radiatorsus.com/
I found them on eBay (seller name radsus) and bought through the toll free # on the website. The rad is by far the cheapest I could find, and it fit great.

They have SVX rads on eBay right now for $147. Item number: 170065282491

Thanks for all the great replies everyone ^_^, I'm guessing you have to make a special request for the SVX radiator. It makes sense, its not like they have a reason to keep a large amount in stock (...I just made myself sad ).

…and no one thinks that JB Welds possible temp fix for the crack? lol

Some have had success with epoxy or JB Weld-type stuff but I think any such repair should be considered temporary. Can't hurt, unless you then neglect to keep an eye on your coolant level.

You can still get a stock SVX radiator from Subaru for something under $400.

Ya, I ordered over the phone. I just asked for an SVX rad and he knew they had them. You can also refer them to the eBay item# if (for some reason) the rep doesn't know what you're talking about. Bonus points for Canadians: they mark the rad as a Gift when shipping up here.

PS: I did the temp fix of the hairline crack too, but I left it too long (~1 month) and one day it finally just went snap crackle pop and did a fluid dump while I was coming home from school

Thanks for giving me a window to work with. I'll see if I can patch it today so I can atleast get off public transportation( its ok for work but when the spring semester starts...good gripes). And my current price range is under $200( way under if my pay checks late again). lol

The eBay auction I noted before is here http://tinyurl.com/yjke5p and comes to $170 shipped. Hope you find something that works for you.
