Yesterday was the first time a I had a problem climbing a hill. It feels like the applied torque is causing the slip and the torque of the car is very responsive up until 3,000 RPM.

Hope that helps.
You say that slip occurs in every gear and at 3,000 RPM. You are asking a lot for a diagnosis from those who have not even been in contact with the car. I would be checking the line pressure as a first off in the diagnostic chain. A test plug is provided for this purpose. That said, there are several possible causes.

Why has not the "shop" run a proper series of tests? Is this beyond them? If so go somewhere where someone knows what they are about. Don't accept a simple, you need a complete transmission rebuild, unless they can tell you exactly why and what is wrong.
