Non-Svx question 1996 Subaru Legacy
I have a 1996 SUbaru Legacy GT 2.5 . It seems my alternator is acting up. I replaced the battery but my dash is lighting up and the car will die no tach radio nuthin. I am asking could this be the alternator for sure or something else? Any help is welcome

Smells like alternator. First, I'd check all the connections going into the alternator. Then, if that doesn't stop it, I'd go get the alternator load checked. If it's not kicking out the volts, you need to get it replaced or rebuilt.

Also, clean the batt terminals well and have the batt test out too while you're at it.
