Smile Hey Folks

Just wanted to say Hi. I don't own a SVX yet but I have been looking. Right now I drive a clean 86 turbo XT and a gl-10 wagon, camo paint, 29" tires and 3" lift kit. Caught the link off of the USMB site. Bought the XT out in Seattle back in January and been a great little car. Now I got the SVX bug.

Welcome to the site. That are good and bad SVXes out there, so take your time and find a good one.

Welcome to the site from your neighboUr to the north. If I could get my hands on a reasonably close XT6 I'd jump on it. I missed one a few years ago and am still regretting it.

If you want to check out a few fine SVXamples in person there's my 92 5spd, my dad's 95 5spd and my cousin's 94 auto to name just a few (none of which are for sale ).

Thanks guys

Started doing some calling on a couple SVX's from the for sale area. Tell me something about the tranny problem. If a guy found a car that didn't have the problem yet does that mean it's just waiting to happen? Is the exhaust system spendy and a brake job including rotors? Found a nice one (picture wise anyway) down south but he says it needs exhaust and a complete brake job before I could drive it home.

Sorry if I ask to many questions but ya dont know if you dont ask.

Oh and I added a couple pictures of current Scoobys. Wagon and XT last winter when I brought the XT home from Seattle and the wagon after the lift kit this spring. lol

If it's the one I'm thinking of he's got leaking rear brake lines. There's a sale right now on stainless lines so that's not an issue. You can still drive it with a poor exhaust.

I have 2 spare sets of exhausts from behind the cats but I'm sure his problem is probably with the cats.

Thanks again for the info

I passed on it. He said it needed rotors and pads all the way around and complete exhaust plus the fact that it's 1000 mile drive home with it sight unseen. To much money for me right now and I'm in no hurry.

I have my 69 Dodge Coronet out on carsoup.com for sale here in Minneapolis area so after that goes I will have a little more money.

I will keep looking and watching here.

john

If anyone is interested in a muscle car,

Here is a picture of the Coronet. I would take a nice SVX and cash for trade.

Wow I really like that wagon! It looks great. Nice job. I wonder how the SVX would look jacked up?

Well I looked at 2 SVX'x over the weekend,

First would make a good parts car but they want 3500.00 for it. Leather seats ripped and car is rusty. Good luck

Second is in lots better shape but needs a very good cleaning. Been sitting under trees. Also needs a power steering pump and a starter. Not sure where the fluid went because the pump was empty and there was no oil on the driveway where it was sitting. Just dont want to have to replace a rack.

The quest goes on.

Xt

Thanks, it's been a great car. It could use a paint job and front and rear bumper skins but other then that it's my daily driver. Almost 100 miles a day round trip and the little thing just purrs along. It will get parked pretty soon for the winter. The wagon is rusty and thats been my winter car for 3 winters so far, this will be #4.
