Throttle Body Chiller
I just had a crazy thought of running my zex dry through the T/B ports where the coolant used to run to get the air even colder on raceday,I know this sounds crazy but would this mod be worth my time.

depends on how cold that zex kit runs through the TB... you don't want to frost it shut, or open for that matter... I don't think I would risk it, but I'd get a few more opinions /ideas as well.

I don't think it'll hurt Walter, especially if it's a hot summer day at the track. Personally, I feel a nice bag of dry ice over the manifold (between runs) would probably have a bigger effect.

Walter,
I agree with Chike -- you've got a good "chunk" of mass in the TB and the NO2 isn't going to be around long enough to uniformly cool it down any significant amount. Go with the bag of ice. -Bill

I agree with Chike.
Yes its better to chill the manifold than the throttle plates. Chikes bag of dry ice is the go.
Harvey.

Sweeeet! This is really neat! I just took a glance at it and I haven't looked too closely at cost but it claims to be cheaper (and most likely more safe) than NOS. |
