SAY IT ISN'T SO
You're right- the famous Alfa signature grill is pretty close...IF YOU PUT IT IN UPSIDE DOWN!!! Crickey it just looks WRONG! The designers at Sub are in the right church but the wrong pew. Having a distinctive grill design/face on your cars is obviously v. important to branding and brand recognition (see BMW, Chrysler, MB, etc.) but it's preferable it be aesthetically pleasing and not BUTT UGLY!!! Ital Design would never let anything that heinous out of the shop. I really hope you're wrong...Subaru has come a long way and this years crop of cars are very nice looking and distinctive...this new face is a HUGE step backward. BMW and Audi have made the same mistake and it's affecting sales. MB has stepped up and become the style leader amongst German manufacturers and their sales are up.
Of course this just makes our SVXs more appreciated...they still look cutting edge, attractive and COOL... WGJ |

I read an article from the Detroit Auto Show interviewing a Subaru Rep saying something to the effect of:
Any response, good or bad, is what we are looking for. Cars today are too forgetable. Suby is trying to make something that stands out and people can remember. IMO they are going about it in the wrong way. If people remember it because it is ugly, it is not a good thing.
