me vs. 94 Cobra

Before anyone replies to this post, if you don't agree with racing on the street that is fine, just plz dont rag on me. Just don't reply to this. Anyways I consider myself a safe person and would not put anyone else in harms way....

So basically got a 92 SVX pretty much stock except for a lightened crank pulley from dayle. The 5.0L Cobra is my friends by the way. Anyways we stopped at a light, turned green we took off, right away he pulled out to a 1 to 1.5 car lead then it pretty much stayed that way the rest of the race. We only got up to about 75 then we let off, so who knows what would of happen. Chances are he would of pulled away slowly im guessing. And no he is not a bad driver at all so that is not in question...All his car has is exhaust and that is it...He definitely won the race but all I'm saying is I did alot better then I thought i would. My other mustang obcesed friend has a 98 cobra and I can tell a huge difference night and day b/n the two engines. Anyways just thought I would share that....p.s only if i had a 5 speed...

I think they are rated at 240 HP and like 285 TQ...But yeah the 4.6's in the newer cobras are definitely quicker then the 5.0, but you can easily make 5.0's fast as ****...Anyways I wondering what would of happened if i had a 5 Spd and 4.11's, and a good exhaust setup....I would like to run from on the highway also....

Some guys here have impreza 5 MT's... I have a WRX MT so my final drive is lower than the Impreza (76=3,000rpm in my car)... Ask Huck... He has the 4.11's in his 5 MT swap

You wouldn't need 4.11's in a 5spd. I'm also using the WRX tranny in my SVX (3.90's) and you don't need to go any higher than that. You reach 60mph at the end of 2nd gear and 1/4 mile at the end of 3rd.

What's wrong with your current tranny? Are you still going through clutches like there's no tomorrow?

The only complaint I have since the swap is the stock tranny mount is too soft.

This is something that have confused me over and over ....

I have (under SAFE conditions) smoked MANY 5.0L V8 equipped "iron horses" , and many other so called "performance" cars also, and frankly, I DO NOT recognize the SVX performance you (the US) guys are talking about ...!

This have made me wonder, IS the diffrence between our cars THAT big ...???? ...or is it that just my SVX that is especially "good" ...?

Anyhow, does someone REALLY KNOW what's the diff. between the US and the Euro model ? , I mean, many ppl. say that the diffs are bla bla bla....but I mean FOR SURE....!

I have mentioned this is earlier threads, but ppl. seems to suspect me for smoking something ...

Nope..no mods besides a "rattle" fixed resonator.
The car is not repaired or fixed in any way besides new CV-joints in the front.
But it goes like a bat-out-of-he*l

Like my callsign implies, my topspeed is over 130mph....on 3:rd.... , and I estimate my top speed on the 4:th gear to around 160mph....why estimated you ask....well, after a bought the car I raced with a friend's Porsche 911, and we slipstreamed (or slippushed ) to 267km/h (167mph) .....GPS measured !!
