Phil,

Were you able to verify that the SVX has an r180 rear diff?

I don't think it's been resolved Mychailo

The cases are identical.

I've got a BUNCH of Subaru rear diffs in my garage (Legacy, Impreza, Legacy Turbo, SVX in a variety of ratios) and the cases that I have are physically the same. I'd be happy to disassemble them and compare/contrast IF I have a set of specs for what I'm looking for (R160 vs R180).

I was told by someone who really knows Subarus that the bolt spacing for the diff backing plate is wider for the two lower bolts on an R180 diff. I guess you haven't seen that?

I've also got a rear diff from a '97 Impreza with the 1.8L engine. That diff is different. It looks similar, but the bolt spacing you mention is different, the vent location is different, and the bearing retention flages are different. I'm trying to pop the diff out and compare it to the other, previously mentioned rear diffs for comparisons sake, but am not sure how to remove it.
