I share your pain
The clear coat on mine has gone bad on the roof just aft (behind) of the driver's door...does look like poop...tried a paint "cleaner" product that only made it worse....at this point I'm not sure if there is a viable option other than getting a new clear coat sprayed on. Please post if you find something that works.

I just wanna know what the heck his dad used when he waxed it before I got it... It totally wasn't noticeable at all so there HAS to be something out there...I can only wax so much!

re: buffer

stacy, can you take pictures of what those watermarks look like? i'm just curious what they look like. also since you're going to be taking care of your car, i'd recommend that you get a buffer. i saw one in the sunday paper, i think from sears for like 40 bucks. small price to pay if you're going to take care of your car. good luck.

I SWEAR by Nu Finish. Easy on, easy off and seems to last a loooong time. It is especially good on clearcoat.

Hope to see you in Cherry Hill!

i got mine at K-mart for like 25 bucks. it a small 6" Wen random orbital, and the small size makes it nice and manueverable.

Stacey,

Turtle Wax has waxes that are color impregnated. I have seen them at PEP boys. I know they have a blck one. I don't know if they are any good. I never used them. RSVX is trying to organize some kind of mini SVX Meet in the Cherry Hill, NJ area.
I suggest that you come to it and we can look over your car's finish.

The Turtle wax black is what I would suggest. Mothers' has oil in it, and that's what causes the marks to come out. We "safetykleen cream wax 400" which is a dealer only product. There was no clear coat coming off when I had it, but all cars have acid rain marks which are more noticable on black and red. There is even a few marks on my WRX, and that is washed and waxed everyweek, and my mom's black blazer is loaded with them. Can the marks be peeled off, if not then it is not the clear coat. You can also have the car ultrasanded and buffed too, but the wax is cheaper and easier.

Hm, I should try that...Not to mention I can get a discount from Pep Boys. Hehe.

Yea, we definitely want to come to the meet if it happens. There's a couple things I've talked about on the board before that I need someone to check out for me as well.
