Re: SVX poly suspension bushes
Someone mentioned that the guys from Poland would be keen to make rear diff mount bushings - if someone can measure correctly.
I cannot do that as my car is currently DD - but someone must have spare rear mount lying around ? Thanks |

HERE The housing of these bushings is a sensitive case, you need someone with a micrometer scale and a set outside the car in order to get those measurements. It is a long shot.

I have a set outside of my car.. I will look to get my hands on a micrometer to get a measurement...

Re: SVX poly suspension bushes
The ones I purchased from Earthworm measure 2.250" in diameter. Do you need other dimensions? The center piece that the mounting bolt goes through is longer than the outside casing.

Re: SVX poly suspension bushes
I have 6 new bushings purchased from Earthworm that I have not yet installed and I measured all of them with calipers and a micrometer. Measurements are in INCHES and not metric as that is the scale of my caliper/micrometer. (I will let you convert ) There is a slight variance in the dimensions of all the parts, so I will give you the upper and lower measurements. You did not ask for the length of the center bushing piece that the differential mounting bolts go through (Dark Blue diameter piece in your pic), but I have included those dimensions also. In my parts this center piece is longer than the main part of the bushing and extends further on one side than on the other.
It's obvious that my parts were assembled from stock tubing or bar stock with slight dimensional variations. Dimensions: Red 2.250-2.255 inches Dark Blue 1.130 inches Other dimensions of this subpart: 1.750 inches LONG (protrudes .170 inches on one side and .080 inches on the other side of the main bushing) Yellow .550-.560 inches Light Blue 1.500 inches Hope this helps. (Oh, for a frame of reference concerning the dimensional variations---a human hair is normally between .002-.003 inches in diameter) Lee

Re: SVX poly suspension bushes
When I installed these bushings a few months ago mine were a bit too wide. After getting no reply here, I cross posted my question on the other forum. A little birdy over there told me that he'd had to grind down Earthworm's bushings on a few occasions, and not to worry about doing that with mine. I took a little bit off the outside of both (less than a hair, an RCH to be exact) and still had to hammer them in. They fit very snug now, and I doubt that they'd come out without using the sawzall that I took to the rotten OEM ones I replaced.
This isn't a complaint about the product. They've served me well since the install, and I can't imagine my grinding would have compromised the parts at all. Just confirming that there is a little variation between those and OEM. I'd rather they are a little big and grind them down, than too small and un-usable.

Actually I suspect a new OEM is right at 2.250 inches in Diameter. Wish I had one to measure. Lee

2.250" = 57.15mm for example, is the OEM bushing really 57.15? or 57mm? Here is the question... Anyways, I will ask Chris to fab them on the 57.15mm basis, if there is any difference, shouldn't take too much trouble squeezing it in...

But along the same line, I could see why some of the Earthworm parts were difficult to get in as they were oversize by at least twice that. (Some of them are slightly out of round, also) Lee
