Question on Factory Alarm

I have a question on the factory alarm on my 96 Brilliant Red Lsi. I've had the car for 2 1/2 years, and the alarm has never gone off, then suddenly out of nowhere last night at 1:45AM Im waken out of deep sleep to a horn beeping sound right outside my bedroom window. Woke my wife up to, and she ran in the other room to retrieve the remote to shut it off. Then just five minutes before writing this thread, were watching TV at 11:45PM and there goes the horn beeping again. What can suddenly be triggering the alarm. No wind, nobody outside, quiet street with low traffic. Could there be a current draw from somewhere thats triggering it. Im dreading falling asleep now, as Im afraid its going to go off again. What gives?

You are sure nobody is messing with it? Have you been driving it so the battery is up to full charge? That is strange indeed.

Its my wifes personal car, she loves SVX's. Anyway she drives it 85 miles a day to and from work, about four days a week. Its driven everyday locally too. The car is parked right outside our bedroom window, about twelve feet away. I can look out the window without getting out of bed. I just thought it was weird seeing that it has never before been triggered by anything or anyone. One small note, not sure if it is related. The dome light is not working, but the floor lights work when opening and closing door and go out correctly. About a month ago the dome light suddenly was out, so I thought it was a bulb, then a few days later, it was working, so I dont know if the door pin (is there one) or whatever controls the dome light when you open the door has a bad contact. Not sure, but I would like to solve this, seeing that both times its occured now, were back to back nights one at 1:45AM and the other at 11:45PM I inspected the car door and handle and windows, and there is no evidence of foul play.

I use to have this dome light issue periodically. What I noticed was that the metal contacts on the bulb would get corroded or oxidized. (However 1 or 2 times the bulb was bad and would just burn out quickly..) So to help the bulb have better contact, I put that 99 cent bulb grease you can by from Autozone, etc and globbed it on the contacts of a new bulb. I haven't had the problem since.

Same thing happened to me. It only beeped once though, which I thought was odd. It happened twice, both at night. I went out to investigate and there was no evidence leading to the alarm going off. And I live in upstate N.Y.

Mabe, alarm ecu? I don't know.

Same thing here. I thought thought the the module was bad. What I did was turn the sensitivity screw all the way down to the lowest setting and have been creeping it up a little every few months. So far so good.

It happened again this morning at 6:37 am. I heard the horn and then a few minutes later a door close. I shot up like a bat outta hell.
