My point is, foglights are meant to be on while the lowbeams are on, hence them going off when the highbeams come on. Taht brings up another question. Why can't I have just the foglights on with the parking lights. When I put on the parking lights and hit the foglight switch, they don't go on. Why must the headlights be on also? Just something I noticed compared to other cars I've driven.
If they were meant to be on all the time.. they would be called "Driving Lights." Parking light use alone is not legal in most states. The word "fog" is operative..
other than that ..... You're right!

Funny you should mention that because north of the border the fog lights ARE the daytime running lights. Also, aren't they only supposed to be 35W bulbs and if they are aimed low they shouldn't be nearly as annoying as all the Honda's with the aftermarket fogs aimed right in your eye!

I use my low beams and fog lights at night to see better with all the deer in this area. I also use them during the day to be better seen by other drivers, and avoid being cut off and have my beloved SVX damaged. If just adds a little extra measure of security and I have never been flashed by an oncoming driver. I figure if motorcycles must use their lights to be better visible to others, an extra set of lights on my car may make the difference someday and prevent someone who is thinking about other things than driving from hitting me.

Would you reconsider that stand if I give you a few names?
