High compression information

Hi,I'm building my eg33 high compression for next summer, Im using sti rod and the eg stock piston.

But I need help to choose the good gasket thickness and how many mm I have to shave on the head,

Finally, I want to regrind my camshaft but not sure of the spec

Cosmetic makes Headgaskets for the eg and ecutune has cams for the engine.

I've been wondering the same info as well. I believe smc used thinner head gaskets to achieve 11.5:1 compression.

The stock thickness for the Cometic head gasket for the SVX is .066"
Bore is 98mm (stock), 100mm, 102 mm

The center or shim layer is uncoated stainless steel layer which can be adjusted to accommodate multiple thickness requirements. This is in case of excessive head or block resurfacing to restore the original specs and compression ratios. You can have the MLS (multi-layer steel) gaskets made in the following thicknesses:

.027", .030", .036", .040", .045", .051", .056", .060", .066", .070", .075", .080”, .086”, .089", .092”, .095" .098”, .120" and .140"

yeah, bore 98mm, but what can be the best thickness
I know smc use 0,040 one

In additional of this, I have to found how much I can shave the head to increase the compression

It's difficult to calculate that, since when you shave the head you change the shape of the combustion chamber a bit. I would talk first to the machine shop you think will do the work and see what they say.

Also keep in mind that shaving heads will alter the cam timing due to the belt changing its length from crank to cam. I posted a spread sheet were I did a rough and dirty calc on what shave will give what compression increas and how much the timing will change on each bank. I can't remember were I posted it but some one might know.
