bypass air control solenoid valve

I have code 24 and was wondering since i have seen several different answers. I the bacsv under the throttle body or under the intake manifold. I know there is a idle air control too. Wich one is under the manifold and wich is under the throttle body? Thank you very much.

Re: bypass air control solenoid valve

I'm pretty sure the IACV is under the TB and the other one is under the mani.

Re: bypass air control solenoid valve

could the one under the throttle body throw the code 24 for the bypass control solenoid valve? My idle goes up and down like a throttle postion sensor and it gave the code 24. thanks.

Re: bypass air control solenoid valve

I'm not really sure, TBH. I'll have a look at the manifold I have off the engine in the garage and see what's what.

Re: bypass air control solenoid valve

thanks man, I have heard of people cleaning the one under the tb but I dont know if they had the code 24 wich is the bypass air control soleniod. I know on other cars i would have a code but it actually wasnt that part that caused it, something else made that part malfunction.

Re: bypass air control solenoid valve

Cleaning it probably wouldn't hurt. How's the grounding to the engine?

Re: bypass air control solenoid valve

went out today to warm it up for work and no check engine light and runs perfect. I guess maybe it has some junk in the vacuum lines and got stuck up or something. All I know is that it runs good now. I have the intake gaskets so i will wait and see if it does it again before i take the intake off.

Re: bypass air control solenoid valve

The aacv (auxillary) is under the intake.
The Iacv is under the throttle body.

Re: bypass air control solenoid valve

I started the car the other day when it was real cold out and the check engine light came on and then after a minute it started idleing up and down again so i shot the gas to it and the light went off then came on again after a few times of reving and the light going off and coming back on i finally reved it and it finally it stayed off and has ran fine every since. Do you guys think that maybe it has some gunk in the vacuum lines or the bypass soleniod?

Re: bypass air control solenoid valve

Bumping this thread.

I have an 01 legacy with an eg33 swap. At the moment, I'm throwing a code 24 for the IACV. I swapped engines with a known good engine and still have the code (not surprising given the shape my engine harness is in), however I'm stuck in limp mode now with the better engine. .

I wasn't in limp mode before I swapped this newer engine in, however I can't rev past 1500. Any ideas on how to get out of limp mode? I've pulled the codes 3 times and only have the one code.
