Trunk Strut Option?

This was posted on the SVX World Forums, but I thought I would copy and paste it here for those who are not on the other one.
We are excited to announce a new Redesigned Rear Hatch lift support for Subaru SVX Owners, designed per requests from many SVX owners. These supports were designed based on the high demand we received for a stronger support.

Re: Trunk Strut Option?

Subaru Parts .com says that the factory Subaru ones list at $64.97 each, before discount and shipping
They sound reasonable.

Re: Trunk Strut Option?

I did the spd replacement. Would of been nice to have a kit with instructions, but was simple enough to rig up.

I have had a set for awhile now, but have been too busy to get to it. When I have it done, I will be able to compare it to perfect working OEM struts that are in my laguna...

Re: Trunk Strut Option?

I just installed them on mine today. They work perfectly and are easy to install. They hold the trunk open at any angle

Re: Trunk Strut Option?

Glad to hear it, nice to see that it appears to have the same range of movement that the stock ones have.

Re: Trunk Strut Option?

It's not terribly cheaper, but the same seller has them on eBay for $68 shipped instead of the $76 their website came up with- just grabbed a set:

Re: Trunk Strut Option?

I installed my lift supports a few days ago. They work perfect and the trunk opens the same amount as before.

Was linked to that site a minute ago by a Facebook ad (then I came here to see if it was legit).

Think I'll order a set.

I'd rather just spend the extra $40 and get a set of OEM struts....

Just installed mine. Even though I had to drill out the stakes it was mindblowingly easy and I love how the trunk no longer smashes itself down.

I'm still working on suppressing my reflex action to hold the trunk open and to close it slowly. The struts work great!
