Trunk Strut Option?
This was posted on the SVX World Forums, but I thought I would copy and paste it here for those who are not on the other one.
We are excited to announce a new Redesigned Rear Hatch lift support for Subaru SVX Owners, designed per requests from many SVX owners. These supports were designed based on the high demand we received for a stronger support.

Subaru Parts .com says that the factory Subaru ones list at $64.97 each, before discount and shipping
They sound reasonable.

I did the spd replacement. Would of been nice to have a kit with instructions, but was simple enough to rig up.

I just installed them on mine today. They work perfectly and are easy to install. They hold the trunk open at any angle

It's not terribly cheaper, but the same seller has them on eBay for $68 shipped instead of the $76 their website came up with- just grabbed a set:

I installed my lift supports a few days ago. They work perfect and the trunk opens the same amount as before.

Just installed mine. Even though I had to drill out the stakes it was mindblowingly easy and I love how the trunk no longer smashes itself down.
