Legacy 2.2 Issue.

Quick non-svx question for y'all:

Car: 95 Legacy LS AWD 2.2L

Problem: You start the car and it immediatly dies unless you hold your foot on the gas for about 5 or 10 seconds while the car gets going.

Basically, you start up the car, and it runs for a split second then it dies.

any help would be great!

-Mike

I have a 91 L and I notice it will do that if sits for a long time. Maybe a week or so it has to sit.
After you get the car running is it okay? Does it start up the next day?

I think it may be from partly fouled injectors.

Mike, my wife has a Legacy with the same engine. I have had a few problems with the idle air control valve. I suspect that in your case it may not be opening. It stays running with the throttle applied because then it doesn't need the IAC valve.

Mine was sticky. I took it out, cleaned it up with some carb cleaner, and had to do exactly the same a month or so later. It's been fine since then.

Legacy 2.2

I have a legacy 2.2 also.....

try a can of BG fuel system cleaner; kind of steep ($20 a can) but does wonders with injectors and the fuel system.

could be a cheap fix....
