Any stroker motors?

I see the bore is 3.8" and thought it would be nice if the crank could be ground for 3.8", which would give 4.3L. Is the crank forged and is their a grind for it?

Why would you want to do this? You would be the first.

No added weight or lag and relatively efficient horsepower. I just talked to bbandtracing.com and they said they'de only be able to get 3.6L out of the crank for $600.

um ...... to increase normally aspirated horsepower and torque?

why wouldn't you want to do this? a motor with a stroked crank will usually make more horsepower than a motor with a bore kit with the same displacement increase.

I guess I'm just skeptical over any gains to be had.

vlmaclean, like I said you'd probably be the first. Go for it and see what happens and make sure to report back.

i can't say what a stroked boxer-6 would put out, but the Devek 928 open road race car was stroked from the factory 5.0L to 6.5L and went from stock 320hp/320ft-lbs to 500hp/580ft-lbs at the crank.

not cheap or easy, but there are gains to be had.

Re: Any stroker motors?

Based on those numbers and what vlmaclean said we'd see 266hp/280tq, maybe a little optimistic.

Seems worth it, if you actually get that much without too many supporting mods. I'd be really surprised if they can do it for $600.

Re: Any stroker motors?

i didnt relise you could stroke out an EG33 to 4.3L. I heard of people getting 3.7 to 3.8L out of an EG33. how would the motor handel that? woulf there be to much cylinder wall movement? and would it keep blowing head gaskets?

Re: Any stroker motors?

I'm hoping to build a stroker EG33 for a friend's project race car. I think I've settled on 3.8 litres as a happy (reliable) medium, although more is certainly possible. I'm not expecting a massive power infusion from 500 cc's (HP is more about breathing than displacement), however the power delivery curve and torque numbers are always superior when talking about increasd displacement engines.
