Fuel door
My fuel door has decided to not stay open. The slightest breeze or tap will close it, which is a nuisance when filling up. Is this an easy fix & if so where do I start?

If the pump nozzle is in the tank, it shouldn't really matter if the fuel door closes easily, right?
I thought the fuel door was just a simple hinge - that there wasn't any more technology than that. The fact that it closes easily is just kind of a...property of the fuel door.

Doesn't the hinge have a spring in it? Subaruparts.com lists a hinge assembly for $15.20 and also a spring for $2.95. The latter, though, may be for the cable release striker. I'll have to check when I get home.

Jason's right. It's a simple hinge, no spring. Guess you'll just have to live with it. Gene
