SVX Axleshaft Identification????

Hope someone may be able to help me here.
I am building a wild race car, using a Subaru FWD transaxle.
I am using SVX rear spindles mated to this.
When getting the parts at the salvage yard, I took the three axle shafts that were in the car, not thinking much about them when I pulled them.
Upon inspection, one of the three is significantly heavier than the other two.
I had thought for sure it was from the front spindle, but now I am not so sure.

The differences in the ones that I have are:
The preferred axle has a larger shaft diameter between the CV joints by about 3/16" diameter. It has a heavier and longer thread at the end of the splines where the axle nut goes, and takes a much bigger nut with a cotter pin through it. The side toward the transmission or rear axle if it was from the back is a female type spline that fits right on the transmission.

Hope this may be enough info to have someone help. I can probably post pics tonight if needed. I ordered front axles for SVX and they are significantly different from what I have, but not sure if they are correct.

There is a difference in the front and rear SVX axleshafts that is easily recognized. The rear axleshafts have both male ends with external splines. The front shafts have one male end (external splines) and one female end (internal splines).

All SVX axleshafts are the same with no differences between years. The front axleshafts are heavier on FWD cars than on AWD cars, but can be used interchangeably.

I hope this gives you a little help. I am not sure of any specific stamped part numbers to identify the differences, but might be able to check it out.

The 36mm nut with a cotter pin is from an older Soob, either an XT6 or a Loyale/GL. If it is from an XT6 or a turbo the spline might be correct to use on an SVX, but I'm not sure on the lengths.

Most OEM Subaru axles use a thicker shaft on their FWD cars, even though the ends and lengths are the same. Many aftermarket axles use the same shaft size for FWD and AWD.

I pulled this axle from an SVX at Harry's and never thought much about it, but it was an AWD car. Length is not important as I am fabricating the whole suspension, but I would like to have that strength that I see with this axle.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Like I said it's not from an SVX, if the splines fit, it is from an XT6, XT-Turbo or GL Turbo.

Which Harry's? Hazelton? Last I was there, they had a FWD XT6, that most likely has the beefy front axle.

What FWD Trans are you using?

Yes, Harry's in Hazleton.
They had a wrecked SVX that I got the parts from a few weeks ago.
I'll look into the other axle shafts.

I am using a 5MT from a FWD Legacy.

Here are some pictures of the two axles side by side.
Here are the differences:

Stub Length from Shoulder to End of Thread: 4.00 2.38
Should Diameter behid Spindle: 2.28 2.20
Outside Diameter of CV Joint Outer: 3.72 3.27
Outside Diameter of Long Shaft: 1.14 0.99
Outside Diameter of CV Joint Inner: 3.33 2.98
Thread Diameter: 22mm 24mm

Old shaft as some markings stamped on it: M DOJ 95AC NTN CO 4 E
Also a UPC Label with a partial number NP51487773***
There is also a Red Sticker on the shaft: MSP
Both have 27 Splines outboard and 25 Splines inboard
