Are you seeing the power mode light come on? If not, that's why.

I find that it's pretty difficult to get my SVX into power mode, but if I have the pedal down far enough, it will go to 6500 without power mode (which contradicts shift logic...).

Your car could be in limp mode...is the CEL on? For some reason, I doubt this but it's possible.

-Manarius. Simple fix, generally - tighten the throttle cables under the plastic engine cover until there is no play. Pull them taught until just before the throttle begins to open and tighten down the bolts. If this doesn't fix it, make sure your TPS is set to .5 volts on the white wire with the car running.

-Cruisen Sounds like a more severe issue of Menarius' problem. Check the same things, Either the TCU doesn't know that the car is at WOT, becuase its NOT (check the cables) or the TPS unit is mis-calibrated.

both tps and cables are good, ive only got it to about 1 time where it shifted to 6500 in drive, omg was it so much faster, it scarred the hell out of me and my sister,, but i have a hunch that the bulb was taken out, why you ask?? well when i went to buy the car the guy asked "do you know alot about svx's", and i said na, i just read about em.... well now i understand why he asked that, but as i take apart the dash and everything, its missing screws, plastic is broken from taking it apart, pieces were left loose... i know the guy was hiding something so he probably took out the bulb so i didnt see the problem cuzz theres something very wrong with it even after i got a new ecu.....

OK Cruisen, try this.

With the car in neutral, rev the throttle round to the red line, 6500 or 6800, whatever feels safe.

Assuming this works then your cable is OK and the throttle is reaching full opening. If this works then your problem is elsewhere besides the cable.

Your next move should be to replace the Power light bulb so you can see if Power mode in the gearbox is working or not.

It looks to me like it is not working, so you may have a gearbox fault or a TCU fault. The safest thing to try first would be to swap in a known good TCU. If this lets your Power mode operate and the gears run up to 6500, then you have found your fault.

Joe

I asked this on another thread and didn't get an answer maybe you tell me. What is "Limp Home Feature"?

Weirdness. In neutral, if I hold the car with the pedal or at the throttle itself, it doesn't hesitate. However, once I put the car in drive and drive it around, it hesitates a bit.

Sounds like a TPS problem? I can't find my multimeter to test it out for sure, but when I find it, I'll test it.

probobly disconnected the power light to hide the fault like Joe had mentioned. this would be an indicator to me that this would be a good place to start

I think "Econ" is only available in Japanese and European models??

Does the light come on at all? It should come on when you start the car.
