ABS relay replacement`

So I have a sticky ABS relay, and it sometimes stays on when I shut the car off. Where could I find a new ABS relay, and what would it cost? Is this something that would simply plug in to replace the old one?

I have seen problems regarding this relay reported more than once, As I understand it is a plug in replacement and is not too expensive.

I trust someone with hands on knowledge will chime in. If not do a search as I am sure relative threads have been recorded.

A minor problem... easily fixed.

Your ABS motor relay is sticking. You can usually rap the cover of the ABS box with your knuckle or the handle of a screwdriver and it will stop buzzing.

Usually it does not come back, but if you want to replace the relay, it is very easy to do:

Take the screw out of the center of the ABS control box cover, located on the left side of the engine compartment

Take out the front-most relay and replace it with a new one and replace the cover.

The new part number for the relay is 26735AA012. The new relay can be identified by a white line under the word JAPAN on the relay case. It runs about $40.00 from subaruparts.com. Maybe a few members here have them when parting their cars.

The Technical Service Bulletin covering this problem can be found by clicking HERE

Hilarious.. thank god for the search function. Mine has been buzzing ever since I got home about 30min ago and I've been checking wires etc. Came in to post about it but instead thought hmmm maybe I should search first. Gave it a tap with some wire strippers and it stopped Question is, why was my ABS light on the whole way home, and will it come back?

Probably, as the code is likely stored in memory.

Thanks to this thread.

Pulled into the garage today and noticed the ABS light turned on. Turned off the engine and back on and it went off. Turned off the engine and heard buzzing under the hood. I remembered this thread and went straight to the ABS box and rapped it with my knuckle and it shut off. We'll see if I need to change the relay.
Without this knowledge I would have probably paniced and start yanking wires.
