my ecu?? (again)

if i were to need a new ecu do i have to have the same one as the year of my svx?

You would at least need the same type. The 96-97 ECUs are different from the ECUs before it. And there are slight (though I don't think problematic) differences between 91, 92 and 93. So if you have a 92-95, get a 92-95. If you have a 96-97, get a 96-97.

someone said u can get used ones for 50$ and theres one for sale on here, well i have a 96 svx, anyone know where i can get 1 for cheap intead of 1000$

o i was informed that my new ecu was not going to be 1000$ but 650$, but it was going to be 1066$ total for ecu and shop labor since they had trouble looking what was wrong with the car in the first place. anyone still think 650$ is still to much, i needed one that was for my 96 svx anyways
