Re: Head Stud Development

What is the current status with ARP fasteners for the eg33? Are they no longer available, or special order only?

They did a batch few months ago, I dunno if they still have kits available or all of them are sold.

Contact them.

Re: Head Stud Development

Sorry that I am writing in this old thread but I need help.
I need 8 short head studs, because I have EJ20 head studs kit.
I wrote to ARP two times and they replied me with this:

Quote:
Hi Tencho,

# ATP6.750-2LUGB is not a good number.

The closest we offer in the ARP2000 material is:
# ATP7.000-2LUGB (a 7.000" stud)

Thanks,

We will win the race, but first I need head studs

If someone know how to order the 6.75" head studs let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Head Stud Development

Tencho,

I just emailed ARP last night and Chris Raschke told me the same thing.

ATP6.750-2LUGB Not a good number

Your comment about "winning the race" made me laught out loud

We might have to contact the special order department at this number (805) 525-1497 ask for Justin. The number is from 8 years ago, so it might not be the right number and/or right person. If they see enought interest they might make them again for us.

Re: Head Stud Development

I had these custom made by ARP thru Flatirons Tuning. Contact Jon Cooley.

I will dig out the details for you tonight, if you wish. I still have the dimensions somewhere.

If you could provide us with more details, that would be awesome.

Thanks

Re: Head Stud Development

Here are photos of the bags the studs came in.

I bet you can id the job byt the number in photo "bag 1", though one digit is not very clear... either a 0, an 8 or a 9.... eh ? These were done in May 2013.

I talked to the ARP European rep and Flatirons guys regarding the lubricants and tightening process at length. I bet I posted all that at some point....

Re: Head Stud Development

Thanks TAPANI !

I made contact with Alan Nichols from specials warehouse.
I asked her if I order 7" head studs and cut them to 6.75''.

Here is the answer....

Quote:
Tencho,

There isn’t enough thread on them to cut any off. A custom order is expensive and lead time is 8 to 10 weeks.

Best regards,

Alan Nichols

Re: Head Stud Development

I paid less than 250 USD for the whole set of 16 studs.

Not expensive, but it did take a while !

Re: Head Stud Development

Still no luck on this end either. I've been emailing Chris and in the last email he asked if I could provide an ARP Invoice # that contains these studs and this way he can look them up.

Here is his email:

From: chrisr@arpfasteners.com
Sent: ‎Saturday‎, ‎January‎ ‎31‎, ‎2015 ‎4‎:‎20‎ ‎PM
To: Sam Lopez

Sam,

Our system is getting software update this weekend. It is possible that these parts came from our specials department. If you have ARP invoice numbers. I can look up the history from that.

Please call me if you have any further questions.

Thank you,

Chris Raschke

If that is what you paid and they were special order items I don't understand why Alan Nichols from ARP said it is expensive to special order these.
