Anyone have the original cupholder they'd like to sell? I'd like to have one for no other reason than that's the only item I'm missing. Name your reasonable price. Thanks

Just bottle water... ever since I had bad experience with coffee in the car.

Wish Subaru had designed well with retractable cup holders.

Cup holder was one of surprise when I first got my SVX...since there's none.

yah mine came mostly with the 'removed console lid' pre-installed.

I'm kinda hoping it will go back on some day, but I am doubting it without mod/repair

I'm old enough to remember when the only "cupholders" in cars were a couple of slight, round depressions stamped into the inner steel lining of the glove box door, which sat horizontally when open to provide a shelf; a simple convenience at the drive-in picture show.

Or maybe it was only our '62 Chevy that had that feature.

Modern cupholders were late-comers to the automotive world because the accepted notion was that drivers should, umm, well... concentrate on driving. Now we have fast food french fry containers shaped to fit cupholders. We Americans are crazy.

I have a stock cup holder and a wedge I cannot have enough coffee in my system…..lol. no honestly I use the wedge and store the stock. Out of three cars only one stock cup-holder. The first time I used that thing and had a coffee the darn cup holder came with my cup as I was drinking and driving along. It wanted the coffee more then me.

That's OK Shelfy, I contacted my local Subaru dealer parts department and amazingly they had four left over in stock that were never purged. And they list for only $6 apiece. So I bought all four. Looks like I'll be the one selling them now.

Its part of the lid on the center console.
You need to remove it, put it on the center box and keep the lid open.
Quite impractical.

Re: Cupholder poll

I tried to use the stock cup holder a few times but it stuck to the cup far too often and came up with the drink... distracting.

Also I tend to drive at arms length from the steering wheel which means that, when not holding the wheel, my right elbow and the open bin lid conflict for space. Also distracting.

I only had one cupholder in the four SVXi and I think it stayed with one of the cars that went to All We'll Drive.
