Ok. It sounds like as an intermittent problem, that I should fix if it happens again. How does one break a knock sensor, other than the ordinary answer(over time it just happens, and the overtightening issue)? Is it from using power mode? Just driving in general? I already scheduled the repair with the dealer, but that doesn't mean I'm not willing to tell him 'no' Thanks for your help, guys.

Apparently you're placing your foot too high on the accelerator. The excess pressure of the throttle cable is twisting the engine block and overstressing the thin plastic shell of the sensor.

Ok. I'll work on getting the top part of my foot amputated. Meanwhile the check engine light did come back on today and the engine isn't running quite as smooth, so I guess it really was going bad. Thanks for the help guys. The next big project is getting the valve covers replaced then doing something about the power steering pump.
