If you own a German sportster and a Japenese GT then it is all good

Oh how the world comes around. Germany and Japan make the best cars, Italy has the best food, france sucks like a $5 w#ore, and the US has a generation of idiots reading to drain welfare dry. Who won in 1945 again?

Wrong: it is $58 (check my signature...I should know)

The Brat has a lot bigger of a bed and if the seats are in the back it is still bigger than a baja but not by much then. Believe it or not the baja is a very handy vehicle to own. I have used mine a lot more than I ever thought I would and I haven't even had it that long (month and a half maybe). The one thing that is great is that if you put dirty stuff in the back all you have to do is hose it out and you are good to go....you sure can't do that to a legacy or an impreza.

The one thing that subaru did on the baja that has me stumped is the fact that subaru found it necessary to put an indicator light on the dash for the pass through door. Yeah thats right...your driving 50 mph down the road with a load of 2x4's shoved through the tiny door in the bed (and a nice backdraft) and the dash has an indicator to tell you the door is open. WOW!!!

Price it right, market it as a hip recreational hauler (and as an economical Home Depot runner to empty-nesters like me), offer options like bike/kayak racks, brush guard, skid plates and such, and yeah, I think it would sell. Price it like the Baja, run one ad per year in Ladies Home Journal and it wouldn't last long. (See B-9 Tribeca.)

You're right about buying some cheapo pickup; I looked at prices in yesterday'a paper and you can buy new tin-can trucks all day long for $15k. But I want a Subaru, and I don't need a truck. When you own a truck, people ask you to help them move.

I've decided I can't afford an new vehicle anyway, so nevermind.

Somebody mentioned getting an El Camino. Nah...no Bowties allowed in my driveway. One of those early Ford Falcon/Ranchero things with a straight-6 would be cool.

The problem you face though is that you need to try to keep most of your posts meaningful.

I have never seen a Subaru Brat in Manitoba. I have seen several Baja's and only 1 Tribeca on the streets.
