Back to the Track (finally)

Ok peoples, here's the numbers. But first be aware, my S/C belt was slipping and I was only getting 7lbs. So if you get the 7lb pulley from LAN and a 6-speed from Tom, and your a nrebe driver this is what your looking at:

R/T:_____________.691
60':_____________1.883 (spun wheels for a few feet)
330:_____________5.687
1/8:_____________8.915
MPH:____________75.50
1000:___________11.717
1/4:_____________14.088
MPH:____________95.04

I think I could have tough into the 13's with a better launch. LAN is planning on switching to a pulley setup like his high boost one for all the kits to eliminate the potential for slippage.

I a little confused about my trap speed too, Tom's 5-speed had a higher trap speed with a slower E.T.?

Excellent time Mike! That 60ft was haulin'!!!! Based on your traps (at both the 1/8 and 1/4) I'd assume some short shifting was going on?

I'd take her all the way to redline to improve your traps. She should be good for at least a 98-100mph trap at 7lbs of boost.

1.88 60ft with 4 wheels spinning at the start, so I could probubly get down to 1.5 or so.

I was above 6000rpm for all shifts. 6800 going from 4th to 5th. That's right I was in 5th crossing the line.

I'm attaching the video, I was lined up beside a heavily modded 240sx. You an here his BOV, but the exhaust you hear is all me.

Mike,
Nice! What did that 240 run, something in the 11s?
Keep up the good work - more boost and better tires are going to make a major difference. What size rims/tires did you run?

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/2...055934B607.htm

Saw it further down the list and it took a second play for me to understand how he was trying to argue it.

Cool to see you got to make it out again. Sorry about your slippin

240 ran 12.729 @ 108.42. The video was from my slower run (14.390 @ 92.40)

I'm running BFG KDW2's I'd either have to switch to slicks or made I can just launch below 4 grand.

ok so with mike running sweet time with boost and thinking about running drag slicks... (AKA part brakers) what parts should be expected to go first? CV axles? and what can be done to strengthen them?

I'm not planning on getting slicks. That was just a statement about how to reduce the wheel spin. I think I'll just launch at a lower RPM next time I go.

and it would probubly be the front shafts. The fronts are stock FWD SVX, the rears are STi ones I believe.

Mike,

Remember that with an awd vehicle, light wheelspin at the launch is good. It keeps the engine from bogging and prevents your drivetrain from taking the full 'shock' when you launch. I'd probably recommend that you go with a 17x8" wheel (e.g. Rota torque, Rota boost) and mount a nice sticky 245/40/17 summer tire (e.g. Azenis RT-615 or Ventus RS-2).

LAN is working hard at fixing the belt slip issues and with his current setup, it is as good as it gets from what he said. Mike, I feel that you belt was slipping alot in upper rpms, with the new belt route LAN has designed, you should see an upper 13 say 13.7/13.8 out of her easy at around 100-105. Running more boost you will see those traps increase dramatically but that is all in due time. You are on the right track but like Chike said, some bigger tires on some Rotas would be primo

Tom

tom lets not start guessing

lets see what it does and not assume anything untill he does,

but hi 13s is definatly right around the corner,

trapping another 10mph is very very hard to do and takes lots of power 95 to 105

going from 15 psi to 21 psi i only traped another 5-6 mph
