Smile New Car

So I've decided to get a newer used car. Something reliable as well as good for gas mileage. It's going to be a huge change, and I'm going to miss my SVX to death, but I think I've made the right choice considering all the factors. I found a '98 Acura Integra LS with only 46k on the clock, once I get the paperwork all done it'll be mine. It's been driven less than 7k per year by only one previous owner. Interior/exterior are both immaculate, no dings dents, burn marks or anything. Drives and shifts great too, its a 5spd. Everything is power, windows, locks, sunroof. Comes with a 3k mile warrantee. I can't wait to get all the stuff done and not have to worry about car issues for awhile. I'm still going to lurk around here though so don't forget who the real rap superstar is!

Well probably going to be putting it up for sale. Not definite yet but I'll put an ad up in the wanted or for sale forum when I get it back to CT where my house is.

Oh no! You bought a ricers wet dream mobile But really I'd put a good alarm on that if you want to keep it. Good pick on reliability thoe should be good 200K befor you have to do a godam thing.

Agreed. Those Acura Integras are still desirable by ricers due to their high output 2.0L engines. As a result, it also makes the car one of the most highly stolen autos in America...

P.S. Good luck with your new ride Pete!

lol I knew someone would bring up the ricer thing! Actually today while I was on watch at the ship, one of the guys was like hey you should hook it up! I was like I might get wheels or something but other than that it's just gonna be what gets me from A to B with a little style or whatever...so then he was like just get a nice "wing" and an exhaust...ummmm no thanks.

It's gonna be my classy yet refined could get stolen but isnt that likely because I live on a military base NON-riced out integra. NON! lol.

my boss had his 1998 integra gs-rl stolen in 1999. it was found the next day stipped of almost everything except the engine. he didn't have enough because he replaced it with a 2000 integra gs-r.

When someone dumped the stock 1.8L and built a B20-VTEC hybrid

If someone else didn't do it, I would have, but I can say that because I have my own "rice"

Seriously though, it sounds like a very nice car and a good deal. Also fun to drive, very reliable, and fairly easy to work on. And a heck of a lot more aftermarket support than the SVX.

They stole everything except the engine? That's usually the main thing they're after.

That's it Pete!

Alright pete. What are you doing next weekend? I'll be back in Cape May. I'll have to kick your butt for considering it. I tell you what. You leave the X with me and I'll let you drive it every once in a while. Why yoou worried about gas milage? You live about 100ft from work. you dont have to drive anywhere. You got everything you need right on base. Besides theres a couple people with 3000GT SL's that need some people to show them up. I even got my springs done now.

It's the best option for me right now financially. You know as well as I do that seaman aren't getting paid the big bucks! I have duty next weekend, Saturday. Hopefully I'll be heading home for Sunday to get the Acura. That depends on the paperwork getting all squared away though. How long are you going to be in Cape May for? What's your last name? I can email you through the global if that's easier.

I hate when an SVXer sells (or will sell or whatever) their car.

Good choice on your next vehicle though.

It's going to be tough getting used to something so different. I mean the SVX is pretty unique in the way it was designed, so any change will be weird. I've always liked the looks of the Integra, atleast the ones without the huge aluminum wing and fart cannon, and the deal was just too good to pass up really. I'm hoping to have it down here with me in NJ by next weekend. I'm purchasing it through a dealership back home in CT.

I know it sucks, but if the owner can't afford to take care of it then it's really for the better, right?

I'm sure we've all seen that "sad" SVX once in our lives. You know the one that it's too late for and you just want to get it off the road so it dosn't hurt the image of all the good ones.
