There's one by Fuji that I am looking at... I can't remember the name of it though.. It is black and kinda looks like a small SLR... The pictures that come outta it are just great!!!

Just got a Nikon Coolpix 4300 for Christmas and it's pretty sweet. 4MP and pretty extensive manual control available, although not necessarily easy to find on the menu, which is very extensive. Lense and pic quality I'd stack up against anything else on the market for the price. I think the extra definition is very worth the extra $$
Must admit to admiring the new Fujinons with 6:1, 8:1 and 10:1 zooms.

Not to get anyones's goat but I really think a 5+ meagpixel cameras are unnecessary (overkill) unless you a professional photographer...

Why does the average Joe pay $800 for a digital camera? I don't get it... I know it's a resolution thing, but how many people take pictures so they can make large posters and images out of them?

If you take successive pictures with 2,3,4, and 5 megapixel cameras, and blow them up to 8x10 dimensions, there will be noticeable differences between all of them. Now, if you're looking at the sony 8 megapixel monstrosity, it IS for professionals. look at the features, and how the camera is set up. but yeah, over 5 megapixel cameras are overkill for a normal user. thats why 3 megapixel and 5 megapixel cameras are noticeably higher sellers, at least at my store.
