ALL HAIL the PUTTY ROAD

I have run the Putty Road, and I liked it!
Even though every one else piked out of the Woy Woy trip, I still had the day aside for a drive, plus the weather was Perfect so I called the brother in law with his Nissan GTS, and we set off!
After plodding our way to Winsor past all the road works and assorted bottlenecks, we joined the Putty propper.
We found a few overtaking lanes and swapped Pole a few times and I was really starting to appreciate how well the SVX hugged the road.
At one stage I spotted a yellow 'Boxster' parked on the side of the road and thought 'Probably the missus picking wildflowers' and drove on.
About five minutes later while being paced by the GTS up an overtaking lane, I spotted this little yellow blur rapidly expanding in my rear view mirror, I backed off to allow the Nissan in so the Boxster could pass, which he did.
Thought 'what color does yellow doppler-shift into?'
While I was mentally projecting to the brother in law 'Follow that Porshe!' his on-board speed limiter cut in, so it was up to me
I can now tell you that my aging old SVX with wife, dog and about a 40kg tool box in the boot, held its honour against the little Bavarian missile, and I can assure you, he wasn't being easy on me!!
I held on to him at speeds I can't divulge here for fear of loosing my licence, my car, my house and both testicles
I can also now see a few things I would like to do to the car if I was going to make a habit of these sort of drives, starting with heavier sway bars and better side hugging seats.
Eventually I let the Porshe go and waited for the GTS to catch up, we then pulled off to a tea room that was closed
After a quarter hour of 'boys talk' we set off for the next stop and spotted the yellow Boxster coming the other way, I waved, he waved and we both grinned as we went our seperate ways
Drive days are made of this!
Pylon

Damn that was good! Sounds like an excellent day - and thanks for ringing me and rubbing it in too!!

Guys, we have got to try and get some agreement about when to do something and where at - Valcuse House or a Southern Highlands run would be good and give everyone a chance to meet - what are people's thoughts???
