Transmission Cooler installed

Well, just got back from the tranny shop and now have a (very wide!) transmission cooler installed....$400AU (all up - parts + labour) and by other qoutes that I got, appears to have been excellent value (and a lot cheaper than a new tranny!!)

It was the same place that Blake got his done and from the workmanship, as far as I can see, it looks very well and you can't see a thing.

I mentioned that there were other SVX's running around Sydney and that *dropping hints to him* a good price and a decent job would probably see more come his way.

Cheers

James

Mine was installed a year ago for approx NZ$300 and also an excellent job. The staff know the transmission well and told me about all the possible problems and reasons for trouble but assured me that treated right with common sense and they would not be making a lot of money out of me. Keeping it in third around town and when under 80 kph was a must, they say.

Harvey (oab_au) told me about the '3' trick and some of the others on here also....mine only ever goes into D over 80 or at high constant speeds.

Also, having it in 3 aids the response time when some pesky WRX pilot decides to have a go

Next stop is tranny temp gauge!!
