Struts

I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm getting ready to replace my struts. I was wondering if there was any cheaper alternative to the OEM ones? They just seam to cost so much.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Adam

Re: Struts

Only option is Koni inserts. On top of everything I'd be very leary about replacing the rears with Subaru ones. They seem to blow seals like there aren't any. I had 2 go within about a year. Subaru paid for the first, not the second as the year was up. Of course since I did the work myself they don't pay for the labor. Best part is I might have put 3000 miles on the car over that time.

My recommendation is that if you do go OEM have the Subaru dealer after confirming in writing that they will replace 'em (labor included) during that 1st year.

Best guess is that they store 'em on their side so the one side of the seal dries out which then fails rather soon upon putting into service. I'd suspect if you get a pair to last over a year then you'll be okay.
