Hey Earl... Ever think that maybe someone else might want to own an SVX? Gonna be tough with you hoarding them all...

I got stuck in snow a few times back in 04 and throttled it hard trying to get out with the bald all-seasons. This was back when I didn't know how to treat the car.

Funny. I've NEVER driven my SVX without the FWD fuse in place. So yes, it'll handle it.

Before winter comes though, I think I'm going to replace the fuse with a switch wired to inside the car. I know people have brought this up before and its been shot down. Too bad, I'm gonna do it. I think it makes perfect sense for people like me with a bad clutch pack. I may not be able to go around turns with it engaged, but it it would be nice to flip the switch just when going up hills or getting started in the snow.

I've wired up a swithc in a couple different Subarus I've owned....was nice to be able to turn it on when needed....

I have this switch installed in my '97 Lego. People have argued that :
1. I'll burn up the transfer clutch
2. I won't get better gas mileage

I can attest that the transfer clutch is just fine after 3mo of off/on with the switch. Using AWD only when driving aggressively, or in adverse weather.

I can also attest to a 3mpg gain on average without the AWD engaged.

My SVX will be getting the switch as soon as I find a good place for it. I've been thinking of using the security switch, as my security system is WAY flaky. HMMMMM the security of AWD
