Antenna issues

It seems from the posts that I have read that SVX antennas have a tendency to break. Is this true? Mine is, in fact, stuck indefinitely and I'm trying to figure out if it is worth replacing. I'm not sure what I would need to do in order to fix it, and I don't want to mess with it if it will only break again. Any thoughts?

If the motor is still working, you can buy a replacement antenna shaft for around $35. from subaruparts.com or other dealerships. Good luck. There is a How-To Doc on how to do it.

I believe it's still working...it's making a clicking noise every time I turn on the car. I'll look up the parts today- that's a lot cheaper than I thought it would be!

clicking would be imo stripped teeth. Since most power antenna rods use plastic teeth and the motors metal... usualy its a cheap fix.

I just tore mine off, and unplugged the motor.

FYI, I threw the broken rod at a kid I don't like.
