Swap a '92 ECU with a '95?

OK- so here's a follow-up question to my ECUTune chip removal q. Can I swap my '92 LS-L ECU with the Stage 1 chip into a '95 LSi? My instincts tell me there's probably enough differences to make it impossible.

Your instincts are right. OBDI to OBDII is a bridge that most people try to stay away from.

Is '95 OBDII? I thought that started with '96?

Most if not all 95s aren't OBD-2 or at least mine isn't (build date of 11/95) or any that I've looked at in yards over the years. Not sure if it would work or not but I'm guessing it probably would work with some effort unless you're a obd-2.

It works fine, I have my '92s ECU in my '95 right now and it drives just fine. ODBII started with '96s.

Hmm. In the Legacy, OBDII started in 1995.

I can also confirm that the reverse is true: a 95 ECU works in a 92 SVX.
