I can only imagine the ground clearance problems of that vehicle when in automobile mode. It obviously retracts the wheels/tires to the very top of the wheel wells. This alone means a complicated and heavy suspension that has little travel (harsh ride). In order to get the vehicle "on plane" and fairly stable as a boat the bottom must be designed with a slight V, making it most vulnerable to damage when operating as an automobile. I'm afraid this is one more example of failure to realize that a car is a car, a boat is a boat and an airplane is an airplane, all separate and apart from one another.

I saw the thing on TV today and no, there isn't much ground clearance. But it was intended to be a high performance sports car on land, so ground clearance was probably not a top concern. The suspension actually moves quite a bit, the car is fairly smooth and stable over rough patches.

Not a big fan of the looks though. Too pointy nosed for me.
