It's a great accomplishment James. Something neither of us could accomplish when we owned an raced SVXs.

i agree chike , its a acomplishment, something thats very hard to do in the svx =>

its not easy making a car quiker then stock whene there is no aftermarket parts for it and when its rare, whens i was in the fore front of dsms in the mid to late 90s no one had anything for the dsm's we had to make our own parts, just like the svx's

i still have the pearly, i just drive it on the weekends now,

Thanks very much to both of you Chike and Solar, and thanks to the rest of you too. I couldn't have done it all without the support and help of our spectactular network of people here and their wealth of knowledge. I hope to improve upon the record as soon as I can get to the track again with my front diff patched up and a good battery, But this time I'm going all out to see what Road demon can really do because I can almost gaurantee a 14.6 out of it. We'll see sooner or later.

Might I make a suggestion?? Do not run your car without replacing the differential case... Not only will it crack open again under heavy stress but you could end up with the case breaking wide open and being stranded. Good luck and nice job on breaking the record

Yes, I completely agree with your suggestion Tom. I'm not really worried about being stranded, But it would be embarassing to blow diff parts all over the starting line. I had a crack in it that was patched up when I went, And when I got home the car was smoking and bleeding diff fluid all over my driveway. I checked it out and the patch itself cracked plus the crack got a little bigger in the diff case. I'll have old Tom fix it up while subi crosser is doing the bodywork. Thanks Tom.

That may be a bigger problem than you think... The case needs to be replaced not repaired... A crack in the case can lead to a misalignent of the hypoid gearset and begin the gradual destruction of the gears themselves... Make sure Tom is up for that

Yeah, I know the whole case needs replaced. It has about 6 little stress cracks in it plus the big one. Old Tom can handle it. I'll probally be there to help him out when he does it as I know it's not a fun job. Maybe you could make a little trip and come hang out with us while we do it when I go down?

Congrats on your time, Jason. Make sure don't let someone fall your record later...

Do you have some pictures of your cracks?

PS: When are you going to Cumberland?

Thanks Ken! Don't worry, Once I go back to the track and run a 14.6-14.7 it will be much harder to break. I don't have a cam good enough to get pics of the cracks. I should be in cumberland in the next 2 or 3 weeks hopefully.
