Weird Rpm problem

Ok, sometimes I start my car and the rpms go to 1500 and drop to 750 and sit there like normal. Other times I will start my car and the rpms go to 1500 and then drop to like 50-100 and it feels like the cars about to die, but never does. About two weeks ago I cleaned my MAF with MAF cleaner and it seemed like it helped a little. Any ideas? This a problem other people have had? I would just like to get it fixed for good. Thanks.

Clean the throttle position sensor? Check to see if all the vacuum tubes are in their correct places.

MAF may be toasted - having any driving issues or just idle issues?

Sounds like the Idle Air Control valve is sticking. It is trying to move to set the idle speed, but is probable goo-ed up, and sticking. Its located under the throttle bodies. You may be able to spray some carb cleaner into it, but it would be better to remove it and give it a good clean.

No driving issues so far just idle. It only acts up once in awhile for like the first 5 seconds after I start my car. Yeah I might just have to try cleaning a few things. Thanks for your responses.
