I didn't know Sunoco delivered the 110. That's pretty cool. Also cool is there is a Sunoco about 15-20 mins from me that has the 100 octane at the pump. It's like 323278238732 dollars a gallon (obvious exaggeration, but it's expensive) but it's cool every now and then.

I have experience with running 110 octane in my SVX (remember those stories at the Reno meet???) Anyway, long story short, it took some time for real power improvements to come about, but it was surprising when I realized I could hit the freeway doing nearly triple digits (at 3am with noone on the road of course). I would buy a 5 gallon drum of the stuff and put it into my empty tank at the gas station and fill it with the 91 octane slop we got here in cali, and it would mix while filling, and the end result was just about 96 octane (according to my calculations), which I remember reading on this site was the ideal octane level for our vehicles . . .
I neglected to check the label on the drums of fuel: leaded gas. At the time I realized that, I had been running the stuff for a few months. Bought a new cat and will have it installed when I get the transmission fixed . . . At that time I wasn't able to find 110 unleaded anywhere in the state of California (which probably means I didn't look very hard.) For what it's worth . . . my $0.02 |
