Drove one the other day; weird. Odd car to do that to, fast though.

How is that odd? I was very happy with my last car- a '91 Subaru Legacy Turbo Sport Sedan. They made some Sport Wagons up to '94 with the turbo, too. nice car. If I found a nice '94 turbo Legacy Wagon I'd consider buying it as a utility vehicle.

I know about the earlier ones- I had an '85 and an '87 Subaru Turbo RX, too. (sedans, though) They were fun (the '87 was better), but the '91 was the best (but not as good as my SVX).

I the brakes, suspension, transmission etc. weren't built to handle what must've been well over 200 hp. The Legacy sports were built with that in mind. Additionally I couldn't justify spending $3,000 on a turbo kit for a car that wasn't a sports car or at least "sporty."

thats just me though

I think the idea is pretty neat. Big time sleeper.

I have a Chilton manual for my 96 Outback, and there is a section about a turbo in it. Could it be for a different country?

Yeah, that's what it is. I had to dig it out and look at it. It covers 90-98 Legacy, all models.

hey 249, Sport Compact Car did a 3.0L V-6 Camry motor swap into a second gen MR2 and put the TRD Supercharger kit on it. Seemed like it would fly. I don't know if it would fit into your first gen.
