Why can't I fix my own machines?
This is getting annoying. I can fix client's machine. I can fix my brother's, neighbour's, dad's but my 2 servers and my machines kept running into crapholes.
I just got the 2 servers running today and just as I was about to patch and lockdown, I ran a virus scan and guess what? Freeking viruses. It's one of those that comes through email or unsecure IIS. I don't use IIS so it has to come in through email. But I don't use outlook. I am confused. Ah!!!!!!!! Doug, when you jump off the ______(fill in your own building name)_____ call me. I'll jump with you!

On a local network machine, run the attached ipscan program using the port scan option. That will generate a list of all open ports and then you can lock them down through the advanced IP properties for that adapter. What hardware firewall are you using at home? my remedy was to just screw it and let other people deal with it. its been a long time since ive tinkered with anything vital. NikFu- -forgot how to subnet
